Review samples
Review the latest samples of a series to see whether the water has changed — a routine check, or a follow-up when an alarm fires or a count looks wrong.
-
In the left navigation, open Flow Cytometry.
-
Select Series, then View by location or View by tag, and tick the series you want. One series at a time is easiest to read.
-
Select the period button and choose a period, for example Last 7 days.
-
Select the newest sample in Samples. Its details, results and plots open on the right.
-
Step through the samples:
- press ↓ and ↑ to move down and up the list;
- press ← and →, or select the arrows beside Datetime, to go to the previous and next sample of the same series;
- or select the oldest sample you want to see and select play (, Play through samples). The screen moves one sample a second toward the newest and shows how far it is, for example 4 / 28.
-
Select pause (, Pause animation), or select any sample, to stop.
Result: the plots and tiles change with each sample, so a change in the water shows as a change in the picture.
What to look for
Section titled “What to look for”| Look at | A sign of change |
|---|---|
| FL1 × FL2 | The cloud of events moves, stretches, or a new cluster appears inside or next to the gate. |
| The gate | Part of the population lies outside the outline, or noise lies inside it. The gate may need adjusting — see Edit a gate. |
| HNAP | The HNA share moves by more than it usually does. It often responds earlier than the total count. |
| TCC or ICC | A step up or down between neighboring samples that the process does not explain. |
| Events and Volume | An unusually low number of events or a smaller volume makes the count less reliable. |
| Warning triangle | The instrument reported a problem. Read the warning box at the bottom of the sample. |
| Gate | A different gate or version than the samples around it — the numbers are then not directly comparable. |
Plots show movement far better than numbers: play through a few days of samples and watch where the cloud goes.
Rules and limits
Section titled “Rules and limits”- The arrow keys work while the page has focus and no dialog is open; they do nothing while you are typing in a field.
- Play-through stays within the series of the sample you start from and stops at the newest sample on the current page. Changing the series or the period stops it.
- The list shows 100 samples per page. For a longer series, use the pager under the list or shorten the period.
